Metaflumizone is a novel insecticide with a new mechanism of action, belonging to sodium channel inhibitor, which has insecticidal activity without metabolic activation, mainly through gastric toxicity and contact activity. When entering the insect body, it blocks the sodium ion channel on the axon membrane of insect neuron through a unique mechanism of action, so that sodium ions can not pass through the axon membrane, and then inhibits nerve impulse and causes excessive relaxation and paralysis of insect body. After 15 minutes, the insect stops feeding and dies within 3 days.
